October card club

Soooooo, normally for card club I do 3 cards and one little 3D/gifty thing. Well I just couldn't decide on what cute little gifty thing to do so I did two. And that was hard to hold back to just two. But I'm happy with my choices and hopefully so will the ladies.

First up the cards
I have a great up line, Becky, and she sent me this fun birthday sayings stamp set that I LOVE!
I used the bow from the mini treat bag thinlits set and a die from the Lots Of Labels thinlits set.

I am also in kinda in love with gold and anything. I pulled out my heat gun for this one and did some embossing with the gold powered.

Ok, now the cute Halloween treats. These are going to be so fun to give, and they were so easy to make.

This one I found at Pink Buckaroo

And this one over at Chic N Scratch

Super cute right?!

Halloween sign post

I LOVE Halloween and I love to change things up every year. I have recently moved and now have a great front yard to decorate and make spooky. I don't have much for outdoor decor so I set to work to make something fun and a little creepy. It still needs some cobwebs and a few crows and it will be complete.

I found my wood at Home Depot in their 70% off cart. They are fence planks that I had them cut to 2 feet for me. I then used a gray stain on them and let that dry. I printed out my words in Photoshop and traced them on to my wood. I then hand painted the letters in with black acrylic paint and a small paint brush you can find at Michaels.

So ready to decorate!!! Lets get to it.

A little something different

I love unique ways to give cards and brown paper bags fit the bill. These are a simple card elevated when placed in an altered paper bag.

And sometimes a card just isn't what you're looking for. This post it note holder is really easy and delivers a cute surprise. There is even a place for a cute pen.

A little Halloween treat

When you just need to give a little treat these little match book style treat holders are perfect!

Just for fun cards

Here are some cards that work to give "just because"

Hand painted wood sign

One of my all time favorite Halloween movies is Hocus Pocus. So I thought it was time to add a little hocus pocus to my Halloween decor. I stained the wood in gray and added a white wash to it. I then printed out the saying I wanted to use and traced it onto the wood. I used a black and vanilla acrylic paint to hand paint the letters. I then took some sandpaper to distress it a little. Loving how it turned out and will look great standing by some dead branches and crows.

Spell book

I created this spell book years ago but have always been asked for the pages so that others could do one. Unfortunately I had not saved my pages to share. Well a few friends recently got together for a craft night and the spell book was on of the projects they wanted to do. So I have created new pages and have them to share.

These are my new pages and you can download them HERE

To make the spell book you will need a large old book, I found a dictionary works best. These files are sized at 8.5x11 so you will need a book around that size. You are also welcome to resize them to fit your book and that can be done in Photoshop.

You will want to age your book so take a spray bottle and randomly spray pages in the book. This will make the pages warp and look old. I also rolled the corners of the pages to make them look used.
Next you take a brown ink pad and rub it along the sides, top and bottom of the pages to make them look dirty and used.

I used a spray adhesive to attach my pages to my book. Just open it up to anywhere and stick them in.  I would also ink the edges of these pages to help them blend with the book.

And for the final touch take a length of black ribbon and hot glue the top of it behind the binding to create a book mark.
The book sits open to these pages so no need to worry about what the rest of the books pages look like

Please link back to my blog if you use my images, thanks so much!

Happiness Posters

One of my other loves is digital design. These are a few posters I created for a Relief Society activity I planned.

September Card Club

For some reason I had a chocolate thing going on this month. I had picked out three cards that had chocolate involved but I decided to hold back a little.

I saw this cute one over at Dawn Stamps and made it my own.

I loved this chocolate bar one, perfect for a friend that needs a little pick me up.

I have to admit the mini treat sack die is one of my new favorites from Stampin Up.

you can find it HERE

Hearts and Chalkboards

This first card is a Valentines day card but could be used as a just because I love you card too. I have a thing for stripes and I love the glittery gold with it.

I have seen lots of chalkboard cards out there and this was one of my favorites. I didn't have a wood grain stamp so I used my wood grain embossing folder and then by brayer with brown ink to go over the grain to make them stand out.

Framed Pumpkin

This was an easy craft night project. I took a Dollar Tree pumpkin and cut it in half and painted it. I found an old frame I had in my closest and painted that as well. I added burlap to the frame back as well as two strips of lace. I hot glued the burlap to the frame back and the pumpkin to the burlap. I added a bow and paper flowers to the pumpkin to dress it up. Piece of cake.

Mini coffee cups

These are SO adorable!! I made these for teacher appreciation week for my kids teachers. I filled them with peanut M&M's and added a Startbucks gift card on the side. I ended up wrapping them in cellophane because none of my bags were big enough to fit them.

I found the tutorial HERE

Tall milk carton

This was fun quick project that fits a Bath & Body hand soap bottle perfectly.

Wood Sign

My sister came to town and we decided we needed to do a project. She had been looking at wood signs to go in her family room but they were a little pricey. We decided we could do them ourselves and went to Home Depot for the wood which we found in their discount cart for 70% off. The whole project (which was three signs) came to about $10 (paint, stain, brushes). Pretty good deal I think.

May Card Club

These are the fun cards we made for May.

A note of thanks

And a fun birthday card

Paper gift bow

This was our 3D project for card club. We made the box using the Stampin Up box punch board and the bow using this tutorial. Turned out pretty cute, no need to go buy bows any more for gifts.

Love Marquee

I made this fun marquee sign for a wedding I was decorating for. It wasn't to complicated but took a lot of time. I love how it turned out and am not thinking of other ways I can use it!

Lemonade cards

These cards incorporate two fun things. The cute awning and the cup of lemonade. This was a perfect summer card.

Starting again

I have started many blogs and some I have kept up for a long time. Others just never take off. I have had a creative blog where I would post all my projects, cards, gifts, parties, etc. and I posted on there for a long time.
I am a Stampin Up demonstrator and as such I create lots of cards. I thought this would be a great place to put all those I create so that I can give the cards away and not worry that I won't be able to recreate them again. I have been hoarding them so I can remember what I've made, time to let go.

So on this blog I will post my Stampin Up projects and hopefully some tutorials. I plan on posting once a week so come back and see what's new.
