Relief Society

I am back to making up newsletters for our Relief Society sisters and I'm having so much fun doing it!!

I am in the presidency and we just gave everyone a new visiting teaching route. And because we all know what happens to that little piece of paper we're given (it ends up at the bottom of the diaper bag or slipped in a book) with our new sisters on it I made a little something up to attach the new route to.

a little package of Extra gum and they're ready to go.

Relief Society~ new routes

Recently we had some changes with boundaries made with our ward. That means new visiting teaching routes. As a presidency we wanted more than a piece of paper to hand out so that it didn't get lost in bags and such.

This is plan B. Plan A's boxes didn't arrive in time.

I put a magnet on the back of this card so that they could put it on their fridge and flip it when they get it done. 

Even plan B had it's bumps. I wanted to put in a See's candy in the bag but the store closest to me closed down. Luckily for me Valentine candy was being put out as I was shopping so I went with that instead. The actual VT route is bend the insert. 

All in all it turned out pretty cute.

2016 Youth Theme

My sister is serving in YW and asked me to make up a print with the entire theme scripture instead of just a key phrase.

Not always an easy thing to get a whole scripture but I think it turned out pretty good. If you can use it I am more than happy to share. You can find it HERE. Please give credit back to my blog if using.'

I have been having fun with some digital prints. My sister asked for some help with her YW in excellence so these are a couple posters I did for her.

My daughter is also having a birthday in a few weeks and these are the invitations I created for her

Halloween posters

Every once in a while I'll get a call or text from my sisters asking if I would do a poster for them. I LOVE it when I get that call!! 

Here are two posters I designed for my sister for her ward Halloween party. 

Spell book

I created this spell book years ago but have always been asked for the pages so that others could do one. Unfortunately I had not saved my pages to share. Well a few friends recently got together for a craft night and the spell book was on of the projects they wanted to do. So I have created new pages and have them to share.

To make the spell book you will need a large old book, I found a dictionary works best. These files are sized at 8.5x11 so you will need a book around that size. You are also welcome to resize them to fit your book and that can be done in Photoshop. 

You will want to age your book so take a spray bottle and randomly spray pages in the book. This will make the pages warp and look old. I also rolled the corners of the pages to make them look used. 

Next you take a brown ink pad and rub it along the sides, top and bottom of the pages to make them look dirty and used. 

I used a spray adhesive to attach my pages to my book. Just open it up to anywhere and stick them in.  I would also ink the edges of these pages to help them blend with the book.

And for the final touch take a length of black ribbon and hot glue the top of it behind the binding to create a book mark. 

The book sits open to these pages so no need to worry about what the rest of the books pages look like
